"Honoring Earth" 2 - "Honorer la Terre" 2,

"Honoring Earth" 2, 'Leaf' (33cm x 24cm - 13" x 9"): eco-dyeing and eco-printing on different kind of reused linen, slow stitching with embroidery thread and linen. Birch's leaf appliqued. 

"Honorer la Terre" 2, 'Feuille' (33cm x 24cm - 13" x 9"): éco-teinture et éco-impression sur différents types de lin réutilisé, coutures lentes avec fil de broderie et de lin. Feuille de bouleau appliquée.

Natural dyeing- Teintures naturelles

Some experiences with natural dyeing.

Mordanting with soya milk, symplocos, and alum +Tara powder.

Dyeing with iced iris, red onion peel.

Quelques expériences avec la teinture naturelle.

Mordançage avec lait de soja, Symplocos, et alun + poudre de Tara.

Teinture avec iris congelé, pelures d'oignon rouge.

iced iris, cotton, and gauze; mordant symplocos

iced iris, cotton, mordant alum + Tara

 iced iris, cotton, mordant soya milk

red onion, cotton; Left-soya milk; Right- alum+tara

Now, I'm waiting a few more days for the results on solar dyeing: eucalyptus, iced iris, indigo + yellow onion peel.

Maintenant, j'attends quelques jours de plus pour les résultats sur la teinture solaire: eucalyptus, fleurs d'iris congelées, Indigo + pelures d'oignon jaune.

Stars and Moons - Des Etoiles et des Lunes

“Stars and Moons” I'm getting closer to the 9^th week, I think I'll keep these nine little pieces as a part of the series, and start a new one mostly focus on moons. Maybe stitching on fabric and also on handmade vegetal paper.

"Des étoiles et des lunes" je me rapproche de la 9e semaine de cette série, je pense que je vais garder ces neuf petites pièces comme une partie de la série, et je vais commencer une nouvelle série concentrée sur les lunes. Peut-être broder sur des tissus et aussi sur du papier végétal fait main.

Paper and lace with plants - Papier et dentelles avec des végétales

Last weekend I took part in a 3 day workshop with artist Aïdée Bernard (La Camigraphie Expressive, http://camigraphie.org ) to learn how to make paper and lace with plants.

Ce dernier week end j'ai participé à un stage de 3 jours pour apprendre à fabriquer du papier végétal et de la dentelle végétale dans l'atelier d'Aïdée Bernard (La Camigraphie Expressive, http://camigraphie.org ) 

 

From leaves or stems, to create paper and lace. Marvel at the transparencies, textures, colors, once more gift of nature!

Partir des feuilles ou des tiges, pour créer du papier ou une dentelle de feuilles. S'émerveiller avec les transparences, les textures, les couleurs, encore un cadeau de la Nature !

 

Trying different techniques, stitching and watercolor painting. 

J'essaye aussi différentes techniques, point avant et peinture à l'aquarelle.
