Indigo Forest - Forêt Indigo

Here the finished fabric book "Indigo Forest". I find it simple, and at the same time meaningful, a calm atmosphere that invites me to visit this mysterious forest.

Indigo Forest - Forêt Indigo

Here a few pages of my (WIP) fabric book “Indigo Forest”: slow dyeing with Logwood for the pages; watercolor painting with indigo on cotton. I'm thinking about running stitch to applique the painting and I'm wondering about how to close the book; I'd like also to add some natural wood...

Voici quelques pages de mon livre en tissu (travail en cour) "Forêt Indigo" : teinture lente avec bois de Campêche pour les pages; peinture à l'aquarelle préparée avec de l'Indigo sur du coton appliqué. Je pense faire du point avant pour appliquer les peintures et je me questionne sur la façon de fermer le livre; je voudrais aussi ajouter un peu de bois naturel...

Slow and natural dyeing - Teinture lente et naturelle

I continue working on natural and slow dyeing. This last week I'm experimenting with symplocos, a bio mordant made from leaves.

So, I'm doing some different samplers with cotton, linen, and wool. Using three different mordants:

soya milk, alum + tara powder, and symplocos.

Leaving small pots on the window of my art studio (southwestern) with logwood and redwood for slow dyeing.

Je continue à travailler avec la teinture naturelle et lente. Depuis la semaine dernière, j'expérimente avec Symplocos, un bio mordant fait de feuilles.

Je fais différents échantillons avec du coton, du lin et de la laine. En utilisant trois mordants différents: lait de soja, poudre d'alun + poudre de Tara, et Symplocos.

En laissant de petits pots sur la fenêtre de mon atelier (orientation sud-ouest) avec bois de Campêche et Bois rouge pour la teinture lente.
